The ABC of thinking -
Thinking skills in the primary classroom
Our partnership with an international educational charity
has taken us into many different parts of the world and
our thinking skills program is now used by over 50,000 teachers
worldwide and expanding rapidly.
Why?
Because the thinking tools we use are VISUAL thinking tools
and as 60% of the brain is dedicated to visual processing
the tools are easy to use and include in the school curriculum.
Initially the thinking tools are taught to teachers the
students are then taught using content or a superbly animated
CD program to quickly embed the tools into the thinking
brain, enabling students to transition them from content
into personal behaviours and social settings, they will
learn how to:
Identify
the key ideas or issues within a lesson or text.
Sequence
what they have learned into a logical order for improved
understanding.
Expose
and check the validity of assumptions.
Clarify
problems and create their own thoughtful arguments and solutions.
Set
their own goals and develop a logical plan for achieving
them.
Resolve
conflicts.
Know
how to predict the consequence of their own actions and
therefore see why they should control any negative behaviour.
Whether to small groups, schools or educational bodies we
can provide an effective, cost efficient thinking skills
program into your school.
